Who is getting the shaft here? The illegal worker or the worker that had his/her social security card stolen or the taxpayer(which would be all of us)?





The democrats have stated for years social security is going bankrupt so why is the US Senate campaigning to give illegal immigrates who used stolen social security cards the same benefits are American citizens?

It seem funny on one day they tell us that SSI is going broke and if we do not revamp it it will be broke by 2020


Now they are voting to allow the illegal immigrant to get the SSI that I paid in to again People forget the Gov. gave these funds away once before in the late 70's when the Gov. brought the refugees here they gave them SSI money and housing. We help every Country that cries to us for help we even help the ones that do not ask but Why is it so hard to help Americans First. We spend Billions on Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world and still so many hate America so why not just bring every solider home put them on our borders and the rest could start going around picking up every illegal immigrant deport them. It can be done.

To get Social Security you MUST have a social security number, by definition illegal aliens do not have one so they can't get Social Security benefits.





What you are saying is akin to you getting a fake drivers license then showing up to the DMV and asking them to renew it. If you did that, what do you think would happen to you?





BTW there is no such thing as an American citizen, you see there is no such a thing as ‘American’ nationality, America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.





It is therefor incorrect to refer to US citizens as Americans with the intent of denoting citizenship, or the United States as America with the intent of denoting a nation. Americans have a term for US citizens, we are called United Statesians by the rest of Americans, to say American with the intent of denoting citizenship or America when we mean the United States reflects poorly on our attitude towards the 70% of Americans that are not United Statesian

Reply:Little known fact: the payroll tax (the one used to fund Social Security) is taken out of illegal immigrants' wages before they see their money, just like all other workers. Ergo, they pay into Social Security.





But without a S.S. number, they cannot receive Social Security benefits. So their money is going to other people, never to be seen again.

many use a PIN number issued by the IRS, but the SS witholldings can't be credited, although the IRS collects it. And if they try to use a stolen SS. all they can do is pay taxes with it, but if they tried to collect, then the discrepancy would appear, the number and name don't match. Actually, most illegal immigrants what they do is that they make up a fake one to work with it, and in each check they withold taxes that are credited not to them but to whomever that number belongs to, if there is any owner of that number.


The reality is that there are billions of dollars collected in SS that can not be credited to anybody, this is a hard fact that can be corroborated anytime.

Reply:Individuals must prove they are here legally before being entitled to a social security number. Without this, they cannot collect SSI. As you are aware, the amount of benefits you are entitled to depends on your earnings.





Going along with your hypothetical question of what happens with SSI if a social security number is used wrongfully by any individual, the person who owns the number receives those benefits.
Reply:if they are illegal,than no they can't get S.S. but how they beat the system is they claim 6 or 7 dependents...so not much money gets taken out of their paychecks........so some of the fellows i work with make less per hour than me but have a bigger take home pay 'cause of their large dependent claim....
Reply:Social Security isn't only Retirement Benefits. There are several different social programs that fall under the heading of Social Security. There is Welfare, Social Security Income (which is another form of income but it isn't welfare), Food Stamps, Housing Assistance, Medicare and Medicaid and then the Retirement Benefits that you are speaking of..





So yes, feasibly they can and do receive benefits from the Social Security System. Mainly in the form of free health care, food stamps and assistance with temporary housing.





Also, Social Security is not a fund where there is actual money laying in a bank account somewhere. It is all numbers. Every year Congress appropriates money into a "fund" to cover social security expenses. The money is not physically there. When you pay into Social Security, your tax dollars are allocated to go into the "fund" but the money actually is put into the General Fund for the government. It is like "stealing from peter to pay paul". The government collects the money from us, uses it where ever is necessary and then takes the money to pay for the different types of benefits as they come in from that general fund. That is why it is next to impossible to "fix" social security. To fix it they then have to find other sources for money to finance expenses that the social security money "temporarilly" does.





Nice, huh... This isn't something knew this is how the government has operated with the social security fund for decades. So no, this isn't President Bush's fault. He inherited the problem like the last 10 presidents before him did. To fix Social Security and to make sure the "fund" stays in the red you would have to halt most of the other benefits that are paid from this fund. No one is willing to take that step. What are you going to tell all the VOTERS who collect welfare every month? Food Stamps? SSI? Medicaid? The Democrats will never *FIX* Social Security. To do so would mean they are turning away their strongest political base. The Republicans can't fix Social Security without raising taxes ALOT. They won't do that to anyone. It isn't a matter of only taxing the rich. It would mean a substantial tax hike for everyone.
