When employers want your social security card I know it is to see if you are a citizen and legally able to work in the United States. And yes, the social security can check to see what schools you went to or education you have, your credit history and your employment history and criminal record history. As far as paid work experience, I think it is verified with the background check and shows up on the social security.
I have an unusual question though. Let's say you have a college student who had several jobs in college(paying) and the rest were volunteer experiences and they put down the volunteer experiences. Does the volunteer experience actually show up on the social security card? I am aware that the background checks usually involve credit and criminal checks. Even so, when they do paid employment/volunteer checking (as part of the background check)they always call the employer and or volunteer coordinator for dates of employmnent and job titles?
Social Security/background checks?
one thing never give your social security number to an off the books worker
Reply:No volunteer experience would not. Not all employment will even show up unless that employer reports it to some repository. You may see what is on your own background check here: http://www.efindoutthetruth.com/BuildYou... get the possible employment portion then you'll know.
