Why social workers cant do more work?

I always wished that those people from social service would do more work, but now its too late to put me in the foster care cause I'm adult, 19. I'm not educated, I cant get any job, I'm in a dead end. I'm even starving now, I dont know if I'll eat today. Its a long story how all this happened.





Why social workers wont help more? I would really appreciate, if they would put me in the orphanage years ago but instead of that, I went through a big hell. I dont remember when it was the last time I went to sleep with a full stomach. So now I cant do anything, I only have elementary school, I cant get any job, I cant move on. Why socials cant do more work? It would be great if there would be some kind of social police that would check every family if everything is okay, but now its too late for me. I dont see any hope for me anymore.

with so many kids in the system they try their best I'm sure.


what i don't understand is even with just an elementary education why you couldn't get a job. most restaurant jobs/ fast food don't require a high school diploma/GED.


Its never too late for anyone. Just laziness to look for other options..
Reply:I had a really hard childhood also but you can't go on feeling sorry for yourself. I lived on the streets downtown with my little brothes and a addicted mom. Now I am buying my own home I own a motorcycle and I love life. You can make your life better if I did it then you can do it...
Reply:Why can't you put a foot forward and put your own life in order. Let me tell you something: foster homes can be hell. Moving around from one place to another is NO guarantee that you would have turned out better. and Institutional Placements (which have replaced orphanages) are no place to call home.


You need to get your GED........there are free classes out there that can help you get it and you need to get a job. and take care of yourself.

"The professional activity of helping individuals, groups, or communities enhance or restore their capacity for social functioning"


NOT


hand holding, passing out freebies, and leading the way for people who are unable to do things for themselves. You are 19. You are a legal adult. It is time to get off your butt and get out there and stand on your own two feet. Social Workers are enablers......their job is to ENABLE people to do things for themselves.


sounds like you wanted things to be done for you. Don't blame the social workers............
