Social worker?

a friend of mines was in a hospital for 2 month and she was asigned a social worker to help her . Becuase the doctors said that she has memeory lost. And my friend does not have medical is her social worker supposed to help her with that and what else is she supposed to do for her? And i was wondering if i'am takin care of her i'am supposed to get help from the county or something the social worker told me i dont get anything for takin care of her. please help this social worker dont never return my calls and she dont care.

If she's your friend and not family you can get paid for that.Also she can get a home attendant if you don't want to take care of her during the day!!The social worker is supposed help you!!She's lazy and you should have her reported!!Good Luck and you have a great HEART!...OH AND LET ME ADD you can ask her doctor the Doctor can also help you getting the home attendant and Public transportation with of course insurance,the Dr. fills out a bunch of papers..
Reply:I agree with the others. The social worker should have done that paperwork right from the get go. I think this worker has a problem. It could also be that your state/county are really cheap and this worker has a HUGE caseload. That's how murdered foster kids aren't discovered for years, too big a caseload %26amp; maybe lazy to boot.





Has your friend signed papers stating that you can talk to the social worker about her case? That's called a release. Maybe that is why the social worker isn't talking to you, because she legally can't. And maybe your friend doesn't remember what she talked about with the worker.





It depends on local programs if you can be paid for helping. In our state, you can sometimes get paid, but most don't. The program isn't funded very well. If you were in a big city, I'd say forget it.





It's wonderful you are helping your friend. Anyone would want a friend like you!
Reply:I report to a lot of social workers. They range from miracle workers to deadbeats that sign papers and collect paychecks.





Ask for a new social worker if the current one isn't helping.

Reply:If your friend doesn't have insurance, the first thing the social worker did should have been to help her apply for aid for medical coverage.





Sometimes when we help a friend, we have to do it out of kindness, not expecting to receive something for it.
Reply:then you or your friend needs to get run her off and find another social worker that will return your calls and that does really care about her cause they are not suppose to do that and how long as your friend had this social worker?
Reply:you should at least apply to the dept of social services to get her some medical coverage to help pay for the bills... does she have any family?... how did the memory loss happen?....i don't know about you getting paid to take care of her... i don't think you would...unless it was a car accident, then you can go and ask the car insurance company.... more info is needed to help
